Walking
tour of Mount Olivet Cemetey focusing on the horticultural beauty
of the Cemetery. Tour led by David Gigler, Superintendent. 1:00-3:00
P.M. There will also be a discussion regarding the history of the
rural cemetery movement starting in the mid-nineteenth century.
Includes a plant identification handout, and refreshments at the
conclusion of the tour. A $5.00 donation per person will be requested
to benefit the programs of the Greater Ridgewood Historical Society
which is co-sponsoring this event.

Grave
Flags for veterans interred at Mount Olivet Cemetery will be available
at the office during office hours for the first 200 families who
visit. Historical information will be requested that will be added
to our Veterans Archive. Families should visit the office Monday-Friday,
9:00-3:30, 65-40 Grand Avenue. Free hand-out on flag etiquette.

Audio-visual
presentation (30 minutes) depicting the quarrying of granite and the
fabrication of monuments. 12:30-2:00. There will be a 60 minute walking
tour showing some of the artistry and symbolism in granite throughout
the cemetery after the audio-visual presentation. Refreshments at
the conclusion. A $5.00 donation per person will be requested to benefit
the programs of the Greater Ridgewood Historical Society which is
co-sponsoring this event.
